How we help!

We provide basic food plus extras for families in need, including clothes, blankets/linen, household items and furniture.

Donations can be collected on request, but we ask that all items are in good condition.

Drop-in centre for the homeless.

Open daily from Monday to Friday between 9.30am to 1pm for take away hot food and showers.

ABOUT US

Reach Out Extienda La Mano celebrates 11 years in Torrevieja, providing food to people in crisis from their food bank centre. In the Comedor, we provide a packed lunch for homeless people. We provide shower facilities and a clothes washer to help the homeless maintain some degree of hygiene. The homeless can also be provided with donated clothing. The Families’ Food Bank is here to help people out of crisis, help everyone to move forward. The Families’ Volunteers prepare food parcels with a range of items partially provided by the European Food Bank which is administered by the Spanish Department of Agriculture. The Charity also provides hygiene products for families, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toiletries, nappies, bleach and other family cleaning products. At the start of the school year, we provide schoolbags and many items required for daily learning.
Our volunteers add value, so any contribution you make of your time and skills could be just what we need. We want more people to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. From helping sort clothes for our charity shop, driving or cooking, we could not operate without people like you, giving your support and time.

Our association in the centre of Torrevieja comprises of offices, a canteen, food bank, second hand shop, including a storage & workshop area. Thanks to all the hard work of our donors and volunteers, both past and present, we hope to continue providing help and support for many years to come.

OUR CHARITY SHOP

Our centre is in Calle Bella Antonia 1 and here you can purchase quality pre-owned clothes for men, women and children, together with bedding and small electrical items. We also have many library books in different languages, bric-a-brac and all sorts of furniture.
Items can be collected from your home or purchases delivered for a small fee.

Open Monday – Friday 10.00am to 2.00pm. Closed for local and national holidays.
