ABOUT US

Reach Out Extienda La Mano celebrates 11 years in Torrevieja, providing food to people in crisis from their food bank centre. In the Comedor we provided breakfast until the COVID 19 restrictions came into effect. We now provide a packed lunch for Homeless persons aged between 18 & 80 years of age. We provide shower facilities and a clothes washer to help the homeless maintain some degree of hygiene. The Homeless can be provided with donated clothing. The Families food bank is here to help people out of crisis, help everyone to move forward. The Families Volunteers prepare food parcels with a range of items partially provided by the European Food Bank which is administered by the Spanish Dept of Agriculture. The Charity also provide hygiene products for families, soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, toiletries, nappies, bleach and other family cleaning products. At the start of the school year we provide schoolbags and many items required for daily learning.
Our Volunteers add value, any contribution you make, your time and skills could be just what is needed. We want more people to enjoy volunteering and there are lots of ways to get involved. Whatever role you choose, you will make a real difference to the life of someone in crisis. From having a cup of coffee, to helping sort clothes for our charity shops, driving or cooking we could not operate without people like you, giving your support & time.

Working together to help people move forward. The centre in Torrevieja where there are; offices, a canteen, food bank, second hand shop, including a storage & workshop area, has grown solely from the hard work of all the donors and volunteers, past, present and hopefully in the future.

The one thing we will always need at Reach Out is volunteers, if you have a little time to spare and would like to help – you could be one of us!

Become a Member of Reach Out and serve the Charity on its Board of Trustees. If you have experience of Accounting, Secretarial duties or have been involved at Control Level in a Charity then we can use your experience. Please contact our office to offer your services.

HOW TO HELP

You can make a change in the life of more than one child or adult. The one thing we will always need at Reach Out is volunteers you could be one of us!. Here are a few questions to help you decide: Could you put in a few hours sorting donations or stocking our charity shop? – Could you help prepare lunch in our Comedor? – Could you drive our small van or large car to collect or deliver items? – Would you like to help customers in our charity shop? If you can answer yes to any of the above then Reach Out would be happy for your to come and volunteer with us.
Do you run or own a Cafe/Bar/Restaurant? Could you hold an event to help raise funds? Possibly a Beetle Drive, great fun, or even a Quiz, easy to organise and ?
Could you be a collection point for donations, a small store or room to store item until we collect in our Van?

The one thing we will always need at Reach Out is Volunteers, call in to our Centre in Calle Bella Antonia and see what and how we do it!

Located next door to our Centre in Calle Bella Antonia 1, Here you can purchase quality pre owned Ladies & Gents clothes, childrens clothing, NEW hand made childrens knitware, bedding, small electrical items, a multilingual library of books, bric a brac and all sorts of furniture.
Items can be collected from your home, or delivered to your home for a small fee.
